Description: Carte de visite of Cpl. William A. Crosser, who served with Company B of the 77th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. Company B was recruited from Noble and Washington Counties, Ohio. Crosser was originally from Newton Township, Washington County, Ohio, and enlisted in a 3-year term on December 23rd, 1861, at the age of 20. Originally enlisted as a musician (fifer), he was captured at Mark's Mills, Arkansas, on April 25th, 1864. He was appointed corporal on December 15, 1865, and was mustered out on March 8th, 1866.
