Description: This collection includes two sheets of questions for the Boxwell-Patterson Examination held on May 18, 1912 and a news clipping listing the names of students passing that exam and receiving diplomas in Marysville, Ohio. The Boxwell-Patterson examination was Ohio's first proficiency exam, raising standards of education in Ohio's rural schools by enabling all who passed the test after completing the eighth grade to attend any high school in the county.
