Description: Carte de visite of General Manning Ferguson Force, who served in the Union Army during the Civil War. Force joined as a Major in the 20th Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and was eventually made a Brevet Major General after his bravery during the Battle of Atlanta, during which he was severely wounded in the face, and disfigured for life.
