Description: This is a photograph of Neil Armstrong's parent's home during his homecoming celebration in Wapakoneta, Ohio on September 6, 1969. There is a "Welcome Home Neil", sign above the door of the home. More than 80, 000 supporters greeted Armstrong upon his return and Bob Hope served as marshal for the event. Guests included sidekick Ed McMahon, and Dr.Albert Sabin, inventor of the polio vaccine. View on Ohio Memory.
