Description: Two Lime Pulvers made by the Jeffrey Manufacturing Company of Columbus, Ohio on display at the Ohio State Fair, August 28, 1919. The lime pulvers were belt driven and powered either by steam engines or, as seen in this photograph, internal combustion engines. Lime pulvers (pulverizers) crushed and powdered limestone which was readily available in the Midwest. The powdered limestone was spread on fields to increase crop yield. View on Ohio Memory.
