Description: This is a 3/4 view of a mine fan made by the Jeffrey Manufacturing Company, Columbus, Ohio, November 25, 1907. In the background are Jeffrey factory buildings. Mine fans were used to force fresh air into deep coal mines to provide breathing air for miners and to dissipate dangerous underground gasses.
