Jeffrey Manufacturing Company Collection
Description: This 1914 photograph shows only one-half of the total area of the Jeffrey Manufacturing Company's main machine shop in Columbus, Ohio. Overhead is the crane that was used to raise large loads which could then be moved from one end of the building to the other on rails. Natural lighting was provided by the large number of windows in the building. Power for the machines on the factory floor was provided from overhead pulley shafts and belts. View on Ohio Memory.
