Description: Lime pulver made by the Jeffrey Manufacturing Company of Columbus, Ohio. A lime pulver crushed limestone to powder which farmers applied to fields to enrich soil and increase crop yields. The pulver was belt-driven and powered by a portable steam engine. This photograph was taken on the farm of Dr. Elliston in New Castle, Kentucky, 1914. View on Ohio Memory.
