Jeffrey 34-B Cutting and Loading Machine   Save
Jeffrey Manufacturing Company Collection
Description: On the floor of the Jeffrey factory is a 34-B coal cutting and loading machine built by the Jeffrey Manufacturing Company of Columbus, Ohio, 1918. A single cut with the 34-B took about 20 minutes and yielded over 8 tons of coal. The far end of the machine was the cutting end while the closer end shows the conveyor that moved the cut coal to a waiting car. An overhead power transmission shaft with pulleys and belts drove nearby machinery in the factory. View on Ohio Memory.
