Description: 57-A Sectional Conveyor made by the Jeffrey Manufacturing Company of Columbus, Ohio inside the factory, 1928. This type of conveyor was used to remove coal from areas of a mine where there were no rail tracks for pit cars. Additional sections of conveyor could be added as needed. The end nearest the camera was where coal was discharged into pit cars. This conveyor was owned by the Columbus Coal and Mining Company. View on Ohio Memory.
