Description: This photograph shows a 36" single roll crusher made by the Jeffrey Manufacturing Company of Columbus, Ohio in use at Rex Coal Company #1, Lovila, Iowa, 1922. This size crusher produced coal lumps used in power houses and steam locomotives. Jeffrey crushers were also used to crush salt, bone, and alum. View on Ohio Memory.
