Description: Coal cutting and loading machine made by the Jeffrey Manufacturing Company of Columbus, Ohio in use at the H. C. Frick Company, Uniontown, Pennsylvania, 1949. The machine could cut a seam of coal on three sides and use its two hydraulic rams to break the coal free. A conveyor moved the cut coal to the rear of the machine where it was loaded onto shuttle cars for removal from the mine. View on Ohio Memory.
