Description: 34-F coal cutter and loader made by the Jeffrey Manufacturing Company of Columbus, Ohio on display in the factory yard, 1952. This machine cut in to a coal seam on three sides. When the cuts were completed, a hydraulic ram at the top would break the coal free from the seam. The loose coal could then be removed from the mine. This machine was sold to the U. S. Steel Company.
