Ohio Guide Collection
Description: This is a photo of several adults who have stopped at an unknown location in Ohio for a game of horseshoes. One of the men on the right side of the photo has just tossed a horseshoe and it can be seen floating in mid-air. Horseshoes is a game played with either two people, of two teams of two people, in which players take turns tossing a horseshoe with the intention of hitting a target, usually a metal stake. Horseshoes is traditionally played in a "pit" area where the stakes are 40-feet apart. View on Ohio Memory.
