Robert Cumming Schenck (1809 – 1890) was a Union Army general in the American Civil War, and American diplomatic representative to Brazil and the United Kingdom. Colonel Robert Patterson (1753–1827) was a soldier and settler who helped found the cities of Lexington, Kentucky, and Cincinnati, Ohio.
