Description: Marietta College, originally called Muskingum Academy, was founded in 1797. It is one of 37 Revolutionary Colleges which are colleges founded before the 18th century. It became Marietta College in 1835. The college is located in Marietta, Ohio, along the Ohio River, at the confluence of the Muskingum River.
